Sound decoder for a Shay

 Here is what a Micro in a Spectrum Shay looks like. Do not know where you would put the speaker. I am not sure the Micro would have three cylinder sound. I never checked for that. You can find the Micro dimensions on the SoundTraxx site.

I have put a Light Logging Micro in a MDC Climax. I hard wired the decoder. It is in the boiler and the speaker is up inside the cab roof in a plastic baffle that came with the speaker. Really not much of a baffle. I had to do a lot of CV fine tuning to get a somewhat decent sound.

This might give you some ideas. Don't forget to check the max motor current at twelve volts.

Is there a sound decoder with the correct sounds made for a Shay ?

I have a 1970s United brass Shay that was remotored with a Sagami can motor that runs pretty smooth

and i was thinking of trying to up grade it to DCC and sound
