Decoder on a Gandy Dancer?

I know that just makes no sense. But wait a minute. I'm kit bashing and scratch building here. I need motive power for a Galloping Goose and I have an old gandy dancer just sitting around. So I am wondering if this would be possible? I'll be hooking up a Soundtraxx sound decoder with the Goose sounds. But will this work?
