No they can not. Onboard was a analog control system used back in the mid 80's. They went out of business years ago. Best bet is to find someone who still uses the system and give them to them. I had Onboard for a few years in the mid 80's. No bad at the time but limited address's and the sound compared to todays dcc sound is lacking. ---------  Ken McCorry

That's assuming they are the sound units - Keller also had motor receivers (using the term 'receiver' for a carrier control system to differentiat from a DCC decoder) since their system allowed for multiple independent control of locos with or without the sound modules. The receivers might be of interest to someone still running an Onboard system, otherwise they are not usable with DCC. The sound generators could be used per the Digitrax appnote.

 Keller Engineering has been out of business for several years as near as I recall.  Those devices were not decoders, they were sound modules.  Here's a link to information on the Digitrax web site on how to use them with a Digitrax decoder.

I recently aquired a box of items on ebay and in it was six Onboard decoder manufactured by keller engineering.  Can these be used on a Digitrax system??
