Shep'sKCSrailroad1987I have the older MRC Progidy dcc system. I called them and they said that it has something burned out in it. They said that it would cost me $32 plus S&H to get it fixed. I also asked them what it would cost to trade it in. They said it would cost $180 plus me sending the system in. What should I do and should I go with a different dcc system? A good question, but insufficient information to answer. "DOES NOT COMPUTE! Please provide additional input."
What system would you be receiving in trade?
Would there be S&H charges for the replacement? What would be the shipping cost to send in the old one? The answer to those questions will get you on the right track.
If you do go the trade in route maybe you could talk them in to throwing in some free accessories for your trouble? Perhaps a decoder or two? Just an idea.

Unless you already have a lot invested in your actual system (accessories, etc),I'd consider replacing it.You can have a Zephyr starter set for under $200,wich is expandable. It would cost you close to this, plus shipping both ways, not considering the time you'll have to wait to have it back. But that's me...I hate putting money on old things...unless they're collectibles.
