DT402d issue?

In the train room tonight running some trains...

Popped the cover off the 402 and found the issue.  The ir emitter insulator wasn't covering all of it and it was shorting out across the dial going into the pc board.  (hopefully that makes sense) Pushed insulation into place and all fixed.

Thanks Jeff.  Did the reset.  Unfortunately I'm at my office so I won't know unitl I get home to see if that works.  Waiting for an email from Digitrax as well.

Someone needs to come up with a model railroad program where you can use your controller to run trains on your computer...of course someone has probably already done that.

Panel Pro from JMRI is free.  It does what you describe.  Decoder Pro managers decoders settings and more.

Before I call Digitrax tomorrow I thought I'd run this past you guys.  I seem to have an issue where the left throttle won't work.  Every once in a while it responds for a second or two and then quits.  Everything else works.  Plugged in or not. I can select a loco with the left throttle and use the F buttons to do various functions but all be darned if it makes the loco move.  Right throttle has no issue.

Now mind you when I first hooked this up was a couple weeks ago I was home with a shattered heel bone so Mr. Percocet was on my mind.  Since then I've improved and can sort of function like a normal human albeit with crutches.  I vaguely remember calibrating the throttle from 0-99 but only on the left.  I've "skimmed" through the directions and don't see anything.  Do I need to calibrate something on the left throttle?  Or call Digitrax?

If you haven't done much customizing of your throttle, the first thing to do is try resetting back to factory default to see if that fixes it.  The instructions are on page 49 of the DT402 manual:

10.0 Customizing Your Throttle - Step-by-Step

Changing the Throttle Options

You can change the option settings for each DT402 throttle to customize the way it operates. Option setting changes can be made on your DT402 either plugged in to LocoNet for power or unplugged with a battery installed. You do not need a command station to customize your throttle.

Following the instructions on accessing the Options menu is a chart listing in menu order the Option name as it appears in the DT402 display, a brief description of the Option and the factory default for each. There is also room on the chart for keeping track of your changes to the default settings.

The FactoryD option allows you to easily set the DT402 Options all back to

factory defaults.

1. Press the OPT / t key to access the Options menu.2. Use the R Throttle to scroll through the options. They are in the same order

as the following charts. The names will blink during this part of the process.

3. Use the Y / + or the N / - key to toggle through the values for each option

until the desired value appears on the screen.

4. To change another option, repeat steps 2 and 3.

5. Press eXIT key at any time to cancel all of your changes6 When you are satisfied with the changes, press the eNTeR key to set all of

the changes at once.

7. You can return to the factory defaults by resetting the last option, FactoryD

to On and pressing the eNTeR key.
