Strange question about DCC
Posted by Skipper on Saturday, July 25, 2009 1:36 PM

If I have a Bachmann 45 ton switcher equiped with DCC.... if i take this to a layout that is NOT Dcc equiped...  can I run it?   Could it damage the Decoder?

Your DCC Bachmann 45 ton loco will run on DC. depending on the type of DC throttle, it may be noisy and/or the head light operation may not be as expected. Any DC throttle with a pulse component or that works by pulse width modulation will not work well with the Bachmann dual mode decoder in your loco.

BUT, you will not harm the loco.
