Phoebe Vet

You seem to be indicating that you would rather that he shipped you a possibly defective one as long as you got it quickly.

Not sure how you interpreted that from this:

Possibly this falls under the "stuff happens" category but maybe a little communication would have been nice.

My issue is communication.  In today's age of ultra fast shipping and email updates every step of the way, to leave a customer hanging for 8 days without any communication is not wise.

Sorry, but if you don't take care of me the way I take care of my customers, then you're not going to get my repeat business.  I would expect the same from my customers.  High standards?  You bet.  That's part of what it takes to be successful in today's environment.

I'm a low tolerance kind of guy...Wink

I have heard on other forums about the programing problem in the first 402s shipped.  I think shipping them back and making sure they are right was the resposible thing to do.  You seem to be indicating that you would rather that he shipped you a possibly defective one as long as you got it quickly.

I would buy from him again in a heartbeat.

Dunno why he would have done that, if you have a PR2 or Locobuffer or some other computer itnerface, the update program and files are free for the download fromt eh Digitrax web site. The DT402 is user-updateable for the firmware, don;t even have to change a chip.

Back on 7/11 I ordered a DT402d and a UR92.  As of this morning, nada.  Called and John claimed that some (402d) were programmed from the factory wrong so he sent them all back but it was shipping today.

Possibly this falls under the "stuff happens" category but maybe a little communication would have been nice.

Oh well, I'm sure it will get here as he said by weeks end, but either way I won't be coming back to purchase anything else.

I have ordered from them and I had no problems and the order was shipped in a timely fashion.  Also he was at a train show in Kentucky and was very friendly and knowledgeable about DCC. I enjoyed talking with him. I will order from him again when the need arises without any reservation.

I have ordered from this guy(John's Hobbies in Fla) about a year ago.  I ordered a digitrax radio 5amp setup and it took him almost one month to finally ship it to me eventhough his site said in stock.  I contacted him a few times and he gave me the run-around.  Sad thing is he charged my credit card the day I ordered it and not right before it shipped.  only after i threatened to come up to his address near gainesville fl and get the police involved, he sent me a conformation he shipped it.  All in all the price wasn't worth the wait.  I will never do bussiness with this guy again and advise you do the same.

I've found a great price on a Prodigy Advance Sq. $195. I havent done any business with the co. before, so Im looking for comments. Fast shipping?, good customer service? I like the price, but you know the saying about something being too good to be true.
