Just to let everyone know I was able to solve my communications problem last night.  I installed a 10 ohm 1 watt resistor in line with the programming track and was able to read both the QSI and LOK sound decoders.  I got the information about the resistor fix from and earlier thread and from the Power Pax install sheet.  I have just begun to play with decoder pro and look forward to using in the future.  The ability to store decoder information per loco will be a great advantage in the future.

Thanks

Decoder Pro & QSI - LOK Sound
Posted by gmh1953 on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 10:05 AM

I just connected my NCE PH 5 with a power pax with decoder pro and cannot read either the QSI or Lok sound decoders.  The program will see the Lok sound and you can hear the decoder react but there is no read back.  On the QSI it will read the decoder once in a while but the error "LOCO NOT DETECTED" comes up often.  It will read Tsunamis and lower end soundtraxx just fine.  Is there something I am missing ?  I have matched the baud rate and checked the serial port setting.

Thanks for the help Greg H.
