Place it on your programming track and read CV8.

With the resulting number in hand, go here to cross-reference the number to the manufacturer ....

Help with identifying decoder
Posted by Packer on Monday, June 15, 2009 11:17 PM

An engine I got a bit a go had a sound decoder installed in it. I'm looking to see what type it is so I can reset it so it has a bell.

On the top on the largest chip, it says:
ST
275?020
70?C-NH
03?0007-f

The ? are a result of a premanent marker, which was done before I got the engine. I'm guessing it's a soudtraxx of some sort, for a 2nd gen EMD. The board is an Atlas-style light board.

Any guesses from anyone?

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
