Sir Madogmy "government" has put up a ban on all transportation related capital investments...
Ulrich,
Does that include items manufactured in your own country?
Tom
[Edit: Got it, Ulrich! It took a little while for it to sink in. ]

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Thanks for the info, Tom.
I can do only little changes, as my DCC system is "old " and supports only a limited amount of functions - f0 to f4. I have to get a new one, but need to save up before I can do that - my "government" has put up a ban on all transportation related capital investments...
I don't know if MRC decoders have a "yard mode" feature on them but this would help with your "Porsche" speed issues. When activated, yard mode cuts the speed of your locomotive by 1/2. I have a couple of non-sound switchers with this type of decoder and they work great.
All that's needed to activate yard mode is programming one CV. (It would be mentioned in the manual.) Then, by pressing F6, you can freely toggle in and out of yard mode.
Finally, I managed to reset the loco - it is CV 125! I don´t know what I did, but it´s running now. I have to fiddle aroud with the cv´s to adjust speed, acceleration/deceleration and sound to my liking -takes a lot of time by trial and error, as there is no recommendation given in the manual. The default value for speed and starting voltage is way off from what is prototypical - it´s a switcher and not a Porsche!
... I´ll give it a try!
Thanks for your help!
... good idea - but h2? I don´t even know, which address the loco is set on - the manual says 3?
Hi,
today, I made the first test run of my new Atehearn Genesis MP15AC, acquired from Caboose Hobbies some weeks ago. If I run it in analogue mode, all is well, sound appears at about 5 volts and the engine starts to move at 5.8 - 6 volts. When I try it in DCC mode, all I hear is the motor revving up - that´s it. Default address is according to the manual no. 3, so that´s what I set my system on.
As I live in Germany, I just cannot return the loco to Caboose Hobbies - the cost of shipping is about half of the price of the loco.
Help?
