I Have An Addiction...

...To my new DCC system.  It's an NCE Power Cab and arrived today from Litchfield Station.  I was surprised how easy it was to use.  The only trouble was installing my first decoders.  The Athearn Dash 9 was simple, but the two Athearn P 42s somehow had their jumper boards glued onSoapBox.  I got them off but it was a pain.

I can't believe what I have been missing all of these years.Smile

Congratulations on your new Power Cab, Will! SmileThumbs Up  I've had mine for over 3 years now and I still enjoy using it.  It's simplicity of design and intuitiveness is what sold me on it.

I tried consisting with it for the first time last night.  With a press of only a few buttons, it's quite easy to both create and delete a consist with the Power Cab.

Will, even though a spiral owner's manual comes with the Power Cab, I've chosen to download the current manual from the NCE web site, print it out, and place it in a ringed binder.  The wide margins around the edge come in quite handy for writing in any extra notes and scribblings that I want to add.

Again, congratulations on your new toy, Will.  And welcome to the wonderful world of DCC.  No goin' back for me...Smile

The decoders are TCS T4x.  I am going to add ditch lights to the P42s.  I spent an hour or so playing with the different lighting effects for the headlights.  It was really cool to put a Mars Light on a Dash 9 unit.  The things we can do in our own model railroading worlds.Laugh
