Thanks Guys.
I've looked and looked, there are no "Os" or "Stars", but there is a mark that goes under the plug base that might, if you look at it cross eyed be considered a one. I'll try that direction and yes I did have the plug the other way. I just don't want to let the smoke out!
Have fun

You would think in plugging in an eight-pin decoder the odds would be 50-50 you'd get it right the first time, in fact it's almost 100% certainty that you'll put it in wrong-way-around the first time, no matter how many engines you convert to DCC...well at least that's my experience.
locoi1sa Lee. You have a plug in decoder and a harness with an 8 pin socket? It really does not mater which way it gets plugged in. The loco will go in reverse instead of forward and the lights will not work. Just turn it around. Look real close on the board for either a star or an O. That is pin 1 and goes where the orange wire is. Pete

The Soundtraxx guy said to look for numbers, there are no numbers. I'll take a look as soon as I get time.appreciate your response.
I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
wjstixIf I understand your question correctly...the pins and holes for a nine-pin plug and receptacle are off-center so you can only plug them in one way.

Hi Stix
The decoder in question is a circuit board with an 8 pin connection. I have an 8 pin pigtail that plugs on so that I can hard wire it in. The only problem is there is no way to tell which way to plug it on unless one knows which side of the circuit board gets what colored wires. the wire plug will go on either direction.
Hi EveryoneDoes anyone have the soundtraxx DSDLL110LC? I bought one ( I know poor quality) and I'm trying to hard wire it in. I can't tell for sure which way to plug the harness onto the the decoder. There are no numbers on the board and Soundtraxx can't help me, I called. All help appreciated.
