I use small latching relays available from electronics places. Electrically, they're the same as the Atlas relays, but they cost less.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Twin Coil Turnout Control
OntarioTodd I'm looking for a simple circuit to indicate which position my turnouts are in. I'd like something like a signal to indicate red or green depending on which way the turnout is. I'd like to use LED's. I'm using Atlas snap switches and will likely use the controllers that comes with them. I appreciate any help! Thanks! Todd Atlas Snap Relay around $10.00 each, that's what I use! http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/atl/atl200.htm
