Prodigy A2 Wireless

Is there any reason not to buy the wireless Prodigy without first buying the Prodigy Advanced base unit? Also what is it exactly that Version 2 of the software provides? I found out that this is the latest version that I should look for in another post and i'm wondering if this improves MTH compatability.

I can think of two reasons one might consider starting with the wired version and then upgrading to wireless. The first reason would be if you wanted to have a wired handheld available "just in case." For example, in case you have some other radio device that causes interference preventing the wireless Prodigy from working(I am not saying this is likely, but it is a possibility, and if you do have any problems with the system, if you have a wired throttle at least you can rule out the wireless causing the problem). Of course, if this is a concern, you could start with a wireless system and buy a regular wired throttle, but from what I have seen, it would be cheaper to buy a regular system and a wireless upgrade.

The other reason would be if you know someone else with an MRC system that is not wireless and you would like to be able to take your throttle to their location and use it.

When MRC originally released their wireless products, there were some "holes" in the address range(some addresses that the wireless throttles could not control). Version 2 of the software fixed that bug.
