Thank you for your answer, I will try that, but very carefully. I am always amazed how good the locos look at one hand, their and , at least from a European´s point of view, good price, but also how BLI can sell a loco with no instruction manual that is worth being called one.

Remove the coupler screw's from both ends, they are kadee, so be careful no to lose any of the pieces. Pull on the coupler box's to remove them, they slide out. The shell comes off by grasping the fuel tank with one hand then pull either end of the chassis by wiggling back and forth and end to end and up, it should loosen from the shell.  Nudge the chassis toward the front and lift it out of the shell. It goes back together easier.

H2 install a Decoder in a BLI SD40-2
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 4:40 AM

I have just received my new Milwaukee Road SD40-2 from BLI and I want to install a DCC decoder. As BLI does not supply any information on how to remove the body shell other than an exploded view, I need help and advice, before I break anything.

Thanks
