Does anyone here have the problem of having all headlights come on when running an mu consist?
Every time I try to run a consist I get all units with their headlights on when I only want the lead units lights on.
How do you work around this?
I have this problem with NCE and QSI decoders.

I tend to get the opposite problem...call up an engine and turn on it's lights, call up a second engine and turn on it's light. Now add the first engine to the second in a consist and poof! the first engine's lights go out. Sometimes have to go back and re-do everything a time or two until the consist is set up and both engines have their lights on.
There are cv's that handle the lighting for consisting that has to be set. What System are you running? If NCE it should handle everything for you in the consist setup.

Did you fix the lighting problem ? If not, could you please give us more informations as to the following :
The system you are using ?
Type of consisting you are using ( Basic, Universal/Old style, Advanced/CV19) ?
How many loco in the consist ?
The direction of travelling of the lead and trailing units (Elephant style or back to back)

System is NCE.
Advanced consisting.
2 locos in consist.
Sometimes Elephant style sometimes back to back.
Make sure the value in CV22 for both locos is Zero "0" and use the double ended consist feature of NCE.
If you don't know how to achieve double ended consisting, let us know.

Sorry it took a year to respond to this but a friend recently bought an NCE Powercab system and had asked me about this topic.......and I just remembered it for myself too.
