I have my track in an oval configuration and have it divided into two separate power areas. I have a digitrax DCS100 as power block 1 and a DB 150 hooked up as a booster per the books instruction as power block 2. I have double gaped with insulated rail joiners and have separate bus wires for each section. Now if I run an analog train when it hits where the insulated section, the engine wants to reverse and then reverse again. If I run a DCC engine it will hesitate at the same section but will pass it and come on through. But either engine will cause the DB150 to beep. Also the power light on the DB150 keeps on blinking as soon as I turn power on. What did I do Wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks....
The command station booster (DCS100) and the booster (DB150) are out of phase. This cane be cause by several different things.
1. You loconet cable between the two is not wired pin one to pin one.
2. You inadvertently swapped the rail A and rail B wires when connecting to the track.
3. The outputs of the two units are reversed from the factory. Quite frankly, this is most likely the reason as it's a known problem that some (if not all) DB150's have their A and B outputs reversed to the DCS100's.
While it's best to check to be sure that numbers one and two are not the cause, simply swapping the wires at the Rail A and Rail B terminals of the DB150 should clear things up.
