Posted by Magnum019 on Sunday, April 5, 2009 12:45 AM

Thinking of purchasing my first Bowser Kit (I run in HO & Digitrax)  with a Smoke Unit and of course installing DCC.........Can anyone tell me how hard this is???.......and would I install the Decoder through the Tender and run the wiring through the Main Body???????

If I wanted to go with sound, What kind of DCC would able myself to do this............I'm assuming I would be installing a Speaker in the Tender also......any suggestions would be Greatly appreciated......

Thanks again Guys............You've being Great!

Putting DCC in a Bowser steamer is easy. The tender usualy does not have a floor and you will have to make one out of styrene. The loco picks up power from one rail and the tender picks up power from the other. The motor brushes are already isolated and the headlight will have 2 wires. With out smoke there will be five wires between tender and loco. Thats with the decoder in the tender. If you can find room in the loco for a sound decoder than put the speaker or speakers in the tender than only 3 wires between loco and tender.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
