Are you running by yourself, or do you have friends over to also run trains? If you regualrly have more than one oeprator, the power districts might make sense - that way one person makign a mistake won;t shut down the whole layout. 8 trains is getting close the the Zephyr capacity, Adding a DB150 as a 5 amp booster might be useful. Power a smalls ection, like a ayrd, with the Zephyr, and power the rest through the DB150 via circuit breakers.

rrinker How big is this layout? How many trains do you expect to have running at one time? And what scale? Yes, I am suggesting that a second power district may not be necessary depending on how you run trains. --Randy

About 15' by 20' in HO I'm not so concerned about the amount of trains to be run at one time (5-8) as I am about power to sections of the track and avalibility to section and breaker different areas. Am I also to assume that you feel that the Z's 2.5 amps is enough for me?
just got finished with the first half of my layout. I,m using a Digitrax "Z". I"m getting ready to start on the 2nd half of the layout and will be makingh it a seperate power distict. I need to know what booster you think would be my best choice to go with my "Z".
