Digitrax SEB Goes Beep, then Alarm shows but all is fine?

Getting a hang of this system, but this is the second time the SEB has went beep, alarm shows on the TH 400 LCD display but none of the engines shut down. I have passed the quarter test all the way around the bench.

Tonight when this happened, I had 3 Proto 1000 F-3 running as a consist and a Blue Line SDR 15 sitting, sound running and a Blue Line GE AC 6000 running. I had just changed a few CV's on both Blue Line Engines, YES I FIGURED OUT HOW TO CHANGE A CV and on a Blue Line yet, thank for that posting folks. I pulled the main bench power wires then hooked up the programming tack. Only one or the other will work at a time so that is not a problem.

After it went Beep, had the Alarm show on the TH 400 and nothing seemed to go bad. I started running the SDR 15 Blue Line and add a BLI sound Hudson. So that is 7 engines, 3 with sound and no other alarms.

I all so have the DB 150 on N scale setting, so there is only 12 volts to the rail. That is how the manual said how I should run it.

Any DT series throttle (including your DT400) that is plugged in to your

LocoNet system will update its fast clock time and rate to be synchronized to

the rest of the system a couple of seconds after it is connected to LocoNet.

Each DT400 can be set up with an alarm. When the current fast clock time

matches the private alarm time set in any DT400, then that DT400 will beep

and flash the message “Alarm” to indicate that the alarm time has elapsed.

The fast clock rate for the fast clock is user selectable from 1:1 to 100:1 in

steps of 1. The most popular range of values is 4:1 to 8:1.

17.2 Stop the Fast Clock

Setting the clock rate to 00 will stop the fast clock for the entire system

at the currently displayed time. Fast time will re-start when a new

non-zero rate value is set.

The current fast clock time, fast clock rate and the DT400 alarm time can be

changed by using the Edit mode.

17.3 Edit Fast Clock Time, Rate & Alarm

To Edit Fast Clock Time, Rate & Alarm

Note: DT400 must be plugged in to LocoNet to edit the fast clock settings.

1. From Fn mode, press the EDIT Key to change to Edit Mode

mode.

EDIT

Display with FastClock showing 12:00am

1. Address 6104 running at 25% speed on

the Left throttle in the reverse direction.

2. Address 25 running at 75% speed on

the Right throttle in the forward direction.

Blinking smoke shows that Address 25

is currently active in the display so its

active functions, 0 & 3 are displayed on

the top line of the LCD.

False alarn, everyone.  Laugh

It's okay, Ken, I could lord it over you if I hadn't learned about this feature just as you did...by reading about it here. Big Smile  I just learned to ignore it because it didn't affect the system in any way.  But, learning what it meant came much later.

Once you have your computer hooked up to it (the time-keeping ability of the DT400 and/or DCS100 is rather inaccurate), you can set an alarm to remind you when it's time to turn off the layout and go visit the rest of the family Big Smile JMRI, with a suitable interface (the PR3 applies), can be the 'master' clock on Loconet and send the time to all the throttles. It can be 'normal' time or a fast clock, however you wish.

Far as the Beep, it beeped only one time, then showed alarm. I do remember reading something about the fast clock and its alarm. There sure is a lot of reading when it comes to this system.

Today I will be hooking up the UP 5, then I will have some fun.
