I'm thinking about moving to DCC, but I was curious as to what I need to run two locos at a time. I know you need DCC equipped locos, but I'm clueless as to what else and what brand to buy.

You might want to pick up one of the Kalmbach books about getting started with DCC.
I got the Kalmbach book "DCC Projects" and it helped a bunch. I had no clue of all the things I could do with my new Digitrax system until I started reading that book and I'm still learning.
