RESULTS OF DECODER INSTALL ON IHC 0 8 0
Posted by fingalrailroad on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 9:04 AM

 Hi every body.

I have completed the instalation of the T 1 decoder in the ho IHC 0 8 0 SHIFTER if works fine i also fitted led,s and all are well .The lights are best got at by removing the smoake box door,i have feed allthe wires to the tender using a flex tube  to carry them.it is important to check the polarity of the tender wheels, all the wire andthe decoder fit very well in the tender, the leds were a bit to blue so i painted them yellow, the loco runs well even though it has only one flywheel on the motor

thanks for the help on this my first decoder fit on an old loco, like the writer.

 Thats great Patrick

As for the blue LEDs next time look for either Yellowglow or Sunny white. If the loco has an old oil burning headlamp I will fit a Yellowglow. If it has a steam generator and electric light than its gets the sunny white. Someone told me a while back if you paint the blueish LED with a yellow sharpie marker it takes the blue away and looks more like a light bulb. I have not tried it so dont take it to heart.

    Good Job

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

 Thanks PETE.

I have used an orange coloured GEL pen which i bought in a euro shop ,i guess you would call them a dollar shop. This gave agreat result.

                                                      Thanks

                                                                          PATRICK.
