I need a math lesson (CV configuration related)
Posted by jep1267 on Monday, February 16, 2009 11:29 AM

Hi all,

Ok, now that I understand how to program a Lenz decoder (or whatever it is in an N scale Atlas engine)(thanks maxman and rrinker) I need help with a Digitrax decoder.

I have an MRC PE DCC system and I'm putting a Digitrax DN163K2 in a Kato RS-2 N scale loco. Reading the digitrax manual it keeps referring to equations like this, 032/x20, 064/x40 or 016/x10 as an example for different CVs. Could someone help me understand how to calculate these, I'm not looking for the answers, I'd like to know how to do it...ya know the whole "give a man a fish" vs "teach a man to fish" thing LOL.

TIA John

No math required here, to the left of the / are plain decimal numbers and to the right are hexadecimal. Simply ignore whatever is to the right of the /.
