Pairing Tsunami equipped Atlas locos with others
Posted by 2059 on Friday, February 13, 2009 6:25 PM

Does anyone have experience with adjusting the CVs on Atlas Tsunami equipped locomotives so they can run with other models such as Kato, Athearn, or T55 in DCC mode? I have tried adjusting CVs 2,3,4,5 and 6 but it doesn't seem to help. These models are very nice but they are slow. Please direct me to the appropriate location if this has been discussed before. Thank you

Atlas Gold Series sound locos have QSI decoders, not Tsunami, but that is mostly irrelevent. Not sure what you mena by slow, the only one I've had experience with is the Trainmaster and top speed was more than fast enough, at least 100 smph. But regardless, you can't make the slow one faste, you have to make the faster ones run with the slowest. Adjust the CVs on the other decoders to slow them down to run with the Atlas.

I tried a couple different values ranging from 0 to 255 in all of them to see the results. I've been using DCC for a little more than a year right now so I usually do things by trial and error. I've been able to match other models with eachother pretty close but the QSI model has me stumped. I have two other QSI equipped models which are just as slow.
