K-Line HUSKY GP7 - ADDING A SECOND POWER TRUCK
Posted by NRW61 on Monday, February 9, 2009 3:33 PM

I have a K-Line Husky GP7. While admittedly a starter engine with not much pulling power, it looks fine. I recently received a second, cosmetically damaged Husky GP7, I would like to take the power truck form the damaged unit and add it to the good unit. The physical swap is easy - I would just like to wire it so the motors run in the same direction. Is this possible?  Thanks In Advance -

If this K-Line Husky is a 3-rail AC O scale engine, you need to ask the folks over on the Classic Toy Trains forum.  Theoretically, the motors should be able to run together as long as they're properly wired, but if this thing has one of those Forward-Neutral-Reverse-Neutral- relays in it, two motors could possibly overload the relay and burn it out or cause it to prematurely fail.
