My first decoder installations...
Posted by tin can on Friday, February 6, 2009 11:48 AM

Last weekend, our modular group set up in a College Station, TX mall.  Operationally, everything went pretty well.  Considering that 2 weeks prior, my modules were plywood, cork & track; I felt like I made progress as I got ballast down on 2 of 3 modules; ground cover on one; and paint on every bare surface. The wiring of my auxilliary trackage, though, was not operational in time for the setup.

However, I needed to install decoders...

Thanks to my friend arjay1969; I now have 4 DCC equipped locomotives.  He performed the first install on an Athearn F45; and I was able to complete two Atlas Classic GP7's and an Athearn SD45-2.  I used TCS T series decoders; and it couldn't have been easier.

Just 47 more diesel installations to go....

Thanks, Robert.

Remember the tin can; the MKT's central Texas branch...
