ok, so here it is, Im a guy who loves my loco's. Im also a UP guy. What are the thoughts milling around this site about the Athearn Turbine (released in july/09 they say). What do you think we can expect? I know what I expect. Dont read further if you dislike Athearn. Just this old guys opinion based on expectaion and experiance. I also WANT to believe in MRC.
Athearn has NEVER done me wrong. period. I have units from 40 years ago that run fantastic in conversion to DCC. Beyond that, I have most stuff since, including Genesis with MRC factory, Still,,,,,,,No Problems. I know most have little positive to say about the OEM MRC stuff, including Challenger owners, yet personally, I must say, The only Athearn product problem was..........ahhhhh......not one. Detail, OK, not the greatest in B.B. days. Problems with MRC factory decoders, 0.00. Sounds like Ive been lucky by comparison to some of you guys who were DOING dcc when the rest of us had no clue. i would love to hear from you guys especially!
SO WHAT ARE THE PROJECTIONS FOR THE TURBINE????? Any word on OEM decoders?
