Conflustered noob looking for Decoder
Posted by Trainman Sam on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 8:54 PM

I just paid for my new Atlas HO C30-7 locomotive (Item # 8611) it states that it is DCC ready, with 8-pin plug, but in looking online, (Digitrax, Lenz, etc.) have come up empty when searching for anything that would tell me what decoder will fit the loco (at this point I feel a bit loco, EVERY pun intended on what must be a sad and overly used phrase on these pages, sorry)

Me being a noob (as most persons whom have read my other posts will probably attest to!) I am new to the online search and find jargon and other such terms.   Any and all help would be most enthusiastically accepted!!!

EDIT:  Sorry, forgot to mention that I bought the thing on Ebay, today, so I am unable to give more info, I was hoping to be able to find something definitively saying that I can use such-and-such decoder with this engine so that I could purchase said decoder and have it here the same time that my engine arrives, so that I may begin using it immediately!  Hopefully someone can offer a knowledgeable hand to this frazzled noob!

Thank you for the reply, but this "Noob" just realized his "Dumbness" and found the correct link that had been staring me in the face on the Digitrax website.

Thanks so much for the help!!!
