Here's a good writeup on speed matching: http://jmri.sourceforge.net/help/en/html/tools/speedometer/SpeedMatch.shtml

MU Locomotive Speed Matching
Posted by mrnimble on Friday, January 23, 2009 6:53 PM

In the DCC environment, is there a recommended procedure to get two locomotives speed matched so they can be lashed up in an MU configuration?  I've got two identical Atlas GP38's where one always seems to be pushing (or pulling) the other.  On seperate parallel tracks one will pull ahead of the other by one loco length in about 4ft.  Thanks, Geoff
