Setting OpSw 17 to thrown does casue the Zephyr to use Advanced consisting, but it still uses one slot per engine to keep track of which engines are consisted. If you want to save slots, you will have to program CV19 by hand.

Advanced consists on the Zephyr?
Posted by jwils1 on Friday, January 16, 2009 5:19 PM

All three Digitrax systems say that Advanced consisting is available.  I generally use Universal consisting on my Zephyr as it works quite well for me.  However, if I wanted to conserve slots by using Advanced will the Zephyr do this automatically by changing OpSw 17 to t (thrown) as shown on page 47 of the manual?  I know that I can do it manually by programming CV19, but will it do it automatically, using the normal MUing process, if OpSw 17 is thrown?

I notice that the Chief has a procedure for Advanced as shown in the following Digitrax website link, but it doesn't mention the Zephyr.  Does that mean it can't be done automatically on the Zephyr?
