rrinker If you are not laoding sound, but merely changing how the decoder functions, you can program QSI and Loksound decoders with the PR3 - you just can't load new sound files into them.

BINGO RANDY! THATS THE MAGIC ANSWER! THANKS ALOT GUYS FOR THE HELP!
The PR3 in standalone programmer mode can program any motor decoder, but only load sounds into Digitrax sound decoders. There are no standards for the sound loading so each decoder manufacturer does it their own way. You need ESU's interface to load sounds in the Loksound decoder, and you needs QSI's Quantum Programmer to load sounds in QSI decoders.

SO THAT BEING SO, CAN I PROGRAM OTHER DECODERS AS WELL? MOTOR CONTROL, AND SOUND Loading?
PR3 is a "stand alone" programmer. You don't even need a DCC system to use it.
Of course, you'll need one to enjoy your programming efforts
so if its true that i can expext no cv feedback, will a pr3 solve this? THANKS GUYS!
