smoke units

I tried to order a Train America Studio's smoke unit the other day. TAS replied to me that smoke units are nolonger available and that   I should contact mth for a proto 1 smoke unit. I seems to me that tas is having some difficulties which were not defined. does any one have any advice about smoke unit manufacturers. I would like to put a smoke unit in some of the Williams E8's I have.
