My understanding of the information on their web site is that Dallee sound systems are NOT on-board DCC decoders; they are stationary sound systems that are mounted under the layout and use speakers spaced around the layout to simulate sound movement with the locomotives. They require special sensors to detect the train location so the sound can be channelled to multiple speakers.
Only in the larger scales, O and G, can they be combined on-board with a separate DCC decoder.
I currently have my layout operating using Digitraxx power & throttles and I'm using Soundtrax Tsunamis in my steamers. I have been to the Dallee website and I'm curious about their sound decoders. They have some whistle sounds I'd like to have like the Reading T-1 freight and G-3 passenger whistles. The site has little helpful information and I would like to know if anyone out there has installed, used or seen/heard them in use. Are their sound decoders compatable with my Digirtax?
Thanks,
Roger
