Can someone tell me what kind of decoder do the Bachmann 2-8-0 DCC equipped locomotives have in them? Is there any CVs that I can use to set the headlight and rearlight so that I can control them independently using F1 for rearlight and F0 for headlight regaedless of direction
If it doesn't have sound, it uses a cheap Bachmann decoder, and you can only control the front headlight.

I think it is a decoder made by Lenz for Bachmann or Bachmann uses a Lenz design. Just a guess.
I had what looks like the same deocderthat was in my Spectrum 4-4-0 but replaced it with a SoundTraxx Micro-Tsunami.
I do not recall the 2-8-0 having a tender light. I know my Spectrum 4-4-0 and 4-6-0 do not have tender lights.
With my NCE Power Cab, I programmed the decoder to keep the light on at all times.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
My Spectrum 2-8-0's were 'DCC Ready' - long before decoders factory installed. There was no rear light on the tender. I installed a Soundtraxx B280LC sound decoder in both. It has a solder pad for a rear light, but I have never installed one. 'F0" turns the headlight on/off as usual. Most decoders will allow you to 're-map' the functions.
Bachmann for a short time did ship some of them with the Soundtraxx B280LC sound decoder factory installed. This decoder will not run on DC. Later they have offered the engine with two DCC options:
