I have done everything to get the horn louder. The next step is to reprogram. I have the horn at max volume and all others at around half volume or less.

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
yes Im interested in the same question but a little more advise on what brand ,how difficult, maybe some picts or any surgery required ...I my self am thinking of gutting the B and putting sound decoder in it and a moter decoder in A... but dont know what to do ,but they dont look to roomy and Ive never did sound in a Ho unit ...I do know speakers and incloser are the key to good sound ,but where to put them or should I say pack em is what id like to know....what do you guys hack up the weights or what ? sorry I guess I just have to order a system and make a go of it...... also thought of removing one side of the drive and wieght but dont no if that would throw things out of balence other words leave moter and one gear drive thus clearing some room ?.Jerry
Adjust the volume! The horns by default in Loksound decoders are set to half the level of the motor sounds. THis is not the same as the main volume adjustment - there are also individual levels for motor, horn, bell, and aux sounds. Not sure why they set it that way out of the box, even a diesel screaming in RUn 8, when they hit the horn, you hear the horn - so the horn should be louder than the motor sounds. For a start, flip flop the CV values and make the motor half as loud as the horn - bet you'll liek it better!

I put Loksound in mine a couple years ago. Great motor control and engine sounds but the horn volume is not that great.
I just received a Proto 2000 FA & FB ( SP Black Widow) unit set for Christmas, It's the version without sound and DCC. Can anyone give me some recommendations on which DCC sound decoder to use in the uints. Thanks for the help.
