Hi!
The sound bug bit me via 5 BLI Paragon locos, and I know its just a matter of time before I install sound in some of my Stewart/Atlas/P2k locos.
I am not yet ready to buy, or even shop for that matter, but I do have a basic question.....
When you buy a sound decoder, does it typically come with the speaker and whatever else is needed for a working installation?
Thanks,Mobilman44

Some do and some don't. You need to read the details/specs carefully. Enjoy modifying your engines. I;m about to start milling some of my Proto2000 for sound...
Some sound decoders are sound only. They will not run your engine. Some have additional "functions" for various lights. Some are sound, motor and basic headlights.
I've bought some that came with speakers, and some that didn't. The speakers, unfortunately, are typically 1-inch round speakers, and will not really fit in a lot of engines. So, I ended up paying for a speaker I couldn't use. It will find its way to the parts bin, of course, and will end up in another project, but I'd rather get the decoder for a few dollars less and choose my own speaker.

Loksound systems use special high-ohm speakers so they(the speakers) can be harder to find.
