CSX RobertTry function mapping. Try setting CV34 to 0, it controls which output F0 Rev controls.
You have the right idea, I got a reply from the Yahoo NCE Group and mapping the reverse light to Function 1 did the trick.
Now I can toggle the rear light on and off at will, case solved.

Thanks cacole, I also can't find a reference to that effect in NCE documentation. I tried many values into CV121 such as 0-1-2 and from 40 to 50 no luck. Maybe it is impossible to have that rear light off at all time, short of cutting the wire lead.
I think the only thing you can do in this regard is to implement Rule 17 lighting, wherein the headlight will be bright in forward and dim in reverse, and the backup light will be bright in reverse and dim in forward.
Set CV 120 to a value of 44.Set CV 121 to a value of 40.
I see nothing in the NCE documentation on how to get the backup light to stay off in both directions.
Something you might try just to see what effect it has is to set CV 121, the backup light output, to a value that is not listed as one of the EFX settings, such as 1. This may turn the function off.
As a last resort, you can send an e-mail to NCE and ask them. I have found them to be responsive to questions submitted via e-mail, but it may take a few days.
I am trying to program the rear light to be off at all time on this N14IP decoder, unfortunately to no avail.
I tried with Decoder Pro and a NCE PowerCab without success, any idea on the value to enter into CV121 or another CV?
Thanks
