Part 1: Yes, one set of track feeds to the "trk" terminals on the Switch-It. Wires from there to each Tortoise, connecting to the terminals marked SWA and SWB.

Part 2: If you need to power the frogs, then you will need a wire fromt he frog to one of the common switch terminals on the tortoise, plus a wire from each rail to each side of that switch element on the Tortoise. See the paper that came with the Tortoise for a wiring diagram.

Part 1 and Part 2 are completely independent of one another. Part 2 is needed if you want to power the frog even if the Tortoise is controlled by a toggle switch instead of the Switch-It.

Question for cacole, or anyone else

I just read your reply re: Tortoise machines with DCC.  I'm about to install my frist 2 tortoise machines, and I also purchased a Switch It. Do I only run feeder wires from the Switch It to the DCC bus wires and only run wires from the Tortoise to the Switch It ?  One more question if you don't mind, my turnout frogs are isolated (gapped) from the rest of the turnout, do I need to run a wire from the underside  of the frog to the Tortoise to power the frog?
