Hi Jwil1,
Many thanks for the help the lights are working fine now ....... off to install the speaker in a car as the cab in the loco isnt big enough to take it.
iomtt Hi all, I have a Digitrax DH165AO i am fitting into a Bachmann SD40 along with a Digitrax SFX 004 sound bug decoder, I want to put lights front and rear on the loco but where do the led leads connect to the pads on the board could anyone tell me please, as there are several points to attach to in the picture of the decoder here http://www.digitrax.com/prd_mobdec_dh165a0.php If someone would be kind enough to mark where the blue/white/yellow leads should go i would be most grateful, also do i need to fit resistors in the leads ? Many thanks in advance.

Look at the decoder picture on page 6 of your instructions. The FOF and FOF+ tabs are for front headlights and the FOR and FOR+ are for the rear light. If you use these tabs you will not need resistors for your LEDs as they are current reduced for that purpose. Use of any other available tabs would require resistors.
Connect the anode (long LED wire or small head) to the + tabs and the diode to the other tab. I believe this is correct but test one to see if it works. It won't hurt the LED if it's wrong.
