Hi

I have an  Atlas U25B and a Life-like RS-2

I want to put sound decoders in these engines, which ones should I get?

Thanks

I have a P1K RSC-3, which is similar to your RS-2.  I put a Soundtraxx decoder in it, and I was pretty happy with it.  The hard part is probably going to be the speaker, not the decoder.  There wasn't a lot of space in mine, and I had to grind down the frame to fit the speaker and baffle box inside.

The P1K unit is an older one, and it came hard-wired for DC.  So, adding the decoder was a solder job, not a plug-in.  I also swapped out the incandescent bulbs for golden-white LEDs, which was a big improvement.  Don't forget the 1K resistors if you do this.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Art,

What 'scale' are you talking about?  You mention an Atlas U25B, and all I can remember is the 'N' scale one.
