Hi, Mike

I like Digitrax also. Your Loco's on order, are they DCC ready?

If yes then the loco will come with an dummy plug installed where a decoder would connect.

All you have to do is remove the dummy plug.

Connect the decoder or it's plug to the plug in the loco.or Tender.

Call up engine #3 and set the Loco's address for dcc control.

You must beaware of the engine load stall amp draw. The amp rating of any decoder used most be over the engine stall speed amp draw.

You'll find most one amp N scale decoders are OK for N scale use.

Remeber Decoders are also rated by the amount of circurts they control.

Enjoy your Trains.

Just letting you all know I have my Digitrax installed and rolling. As of now all I have are DC locos but they run better on DCC than on DC. I cannot tell a lot of difference right now except the throttle is a WHOLE LOT MORE precise than with the DC. I have a couple of DCC locos on order, and would like to know about installing decoders, what is involved? I am running N scale and have never even seen a decoder. Is there certain things that I should be aware of?    Thanks.     Mike
