I work part-time for a LHS and one of my jobs is trying out the new stuff he gets in. So here's my question, I've been given the new Aerotrain to play with, to include all the extra cars. Even the DCC ready coach and am trying to figure out which decoder might work best, as in easiest to install, smallest speaker with best sound, easily hidden, etc...
I've looked on thier link and know that I could use the MRC 1000 or 1001, but was wondering, since I have a NCE Powerhouse pro to do my testing with, what might work best. Although he pays for what I do, I still don't like to cause unneccessary expenditures.
If anyone could make some suggestions, or at least point me in the right direction, I would be appreciative. BTW, I'm sending a similar question to Tony's Train Exchange so as to cover all my angles.

Did you ever get an answer? I'm curious what you decided to do. I just bought a set on eBay and wanted to convert to DCC. Sounds like MRC is easy to go but there are so many unhappy stories about their products. I have seen other posts about the Aerotrain, but nothing about the exact decoder. Thanks for any tips!

That member hasn't been around since January 2010 ....
That being said, the Aerotrain used an EMD 567 12 cylinder. Tsunami has this sound sound file and Loksound will be releasing one very shortly which should be really good if it's anything like their 16 cylinder 567.

Jim, you really ought to start your own thread. This 6-year old thread from an apparently long gone OP might never be answered.
Which train set is it? Con-Cor? N scale or HO scale? Con-Cor released the Aeroscale in both scales.

Sorry. I checked the date but not the member's activity. I didnt want to start my own since there was already one started and I've noticed some seem a bit annoyed when they believe people don't search the back posts... I erred on the side of caution, but erred nonetheless!
Anyways, I'm thinking about the ConCor HO scale set from a few years back. Picked one up on eBay. ConCor has pdf's of the instructions on their website, but they are massively out of date. Besides, they use MRC decoders which seem slightly more popular than leprosey.
The Tsunami one sounds good. I might have to give that a try!
