Yeah, I find it a little too suspicious that the Tsunami has been in development for all these years, then right after QSI releases the new Revolution, suddenly the diesel Tsunami shows up. Either it's a coincidence and bad luck with the timing for Soundtraxx, or they rushed to get the product out the door when they found out QSI was releasing theirs.

Glad to see that there are some more horn offerings this time including the P3, P5, and even a Canadian Tuned horn. So Soundtraxx has been paying attention to suggestions. My interest is now perking a bit as the P5 (i.e: early Amtrak F40s and SDP40fs and many Southern Railway units), the S2M (Metroliners, Erie Lackawanna E units, NYC E units), and the K5H for a variety of eastern U.S power including CSX and NS.
For those of you in clubs that have DCC/Sound. If not already considering suggest to your membership that either QSI or LokSound ESU sound programmers be purchased for the club. Would be beneficial to members with programmable decoders in their units and encourage other members to get into sound.

I just checked the Litchfield Station website - the new diesel Tsunami is listed for about $95, which is about $10 more than their price for the Atlas-style Revolution w/o speaker - so much for competitive pricing . Other than the uploadable sound feature for the QSI decoders (which I have no need/desire for at this point), they at least appear to be very similar in quality. So if I had to choose, I'd go with QSI simply because of the price tag.
The thing I like about the Tsunami is that each decoder has 16 different horns to choose from - the Revolution only has one, and you have to make sure you buy the right one. Sure, you could upload another horn sound, but then you have to buy the QSI programmer. Not sure if I'm prepared to pay that kind of overhead expense right now. Maybe if I get 4 or 5 QSI Revolutions and get into hard-core audio accuracy, I might get one then.

Glad to see that the "Steam Tsunami" has been a success story.
I remember the excitement so many of us felt back in 2004 when the announcement was made. I was so looking forward to the Diesel version..............
Since then I've heard "properly baffled" ESU Lok Sound and Digitrax units and enjoyed their sounds. I very much like and want the "sound upload" features where a modeler can choose from a library of sounds, especially horns or even custom edit and upload sound from the web or personal recordings. IMHO, that's a win-win scenario.
From my understanding, the Diesel Tsunami will offer the same sounds that's currently available in the DSX lines with no upload feature (please correct me if I'm wrong). The sounds will, reportedly, be much clearer and more dynamic so it would be foolish to write-off Soundtraxx.
However, for at least 1/2 of my diesel fleet, there are specific horn sounds that I want that won't be obtainable from Soundtraxx (Leslie RS5T-RRO, Leslie SL4-T, Leslie S3-K, Nathan P5a, Nathan K5H). I'm also keeping an eye out on Ebay for a Walthers E60. The prototypes had a unique, mellow-sounding horn (the Nathan P-01235) of which I have a recording that can be uploaded via Lok Sound. So I prefer to concentrate on these first.

I received the announcement from Bruce today, too. All I can say is, it's about time! How many years have we been waiting for this one? Now I hope we don't have to wait another six months for more for production to catch up with demand.
Just saw a notice from a DCC dealer that the Official announcement will be this Friday for the diesel decoder.
For those who like rumors, consider this a "Juicy" Rumor. Because of advertising I cannot post the message.
