program track - what gauge wire to use
Posted by aet on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 12:49 PM

I have my zephyr with my bus wires connected, I have 18 gauge wire connected to the program track ports- question Do I connect the wire directly to the program tracks? or should I use a smaller gauge 22g from the tracks to the 18g?

Thanks

Art

It doesn't matter.  Just hook it up however is easiest.  There is no reason to go to the smaller wire.

Nothing wrong with using the 18g wire.

If you really wanted to, you could use that for your bus and the feeders.

As others have said, the wire doesn't matter.  I actually made a switch box so that I can switch a siding between operations to program track.  It works out nicely.

Best!
