Extra Lights Ditch Lights
Posted by alloboard on Monday, May 12, 2008 11:14 PM
I want to add extra lighting to a Life-Like Proto100 RDC for example, how will I wire leds for internal lighting, marker, lights and ditch lights. Is there any online tutorial anyone is aware of that I can find?

Assuming you want to operate them seperately You'll need a 4 function decoder. The lighting common (Blue wire on the harness) is the same for all of the lighting outputs. If you're using LEDs or 1.5v bulbs, you'll also want a 470-560 ohm resistor in each of the lighting circuits. That is, unless the decoder you choose has 1.5 volt outputs.

Don't know exactly what decoder you want to use but this should get you started pictorily..

Your decoder manual should have programming info to get the desired effect from each output.

Good luck.
