The Lenz has BEMF. Thats why they stay together. Sometimes there is problems consisting decoders with BEMF. One unit will spin its wheels wildly trying to push the other and vice versa. When consisting be sure to turn off BEMF.
Im surprised that the TCS decoders you have are not working corectly. I prefer the TCS decoders over other makes. And now they have BEMF also makes them realy grand. I love the lighting controls of TCS decoders. And the price is right.
Good luck

P.S. Its your railroad you can run any way you want to. I like 28 SS too. 128 is too many putton pushes while switching.
I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
First let me say thank you to those who responded, unfortunetly it was a little more involved than I could have imagined. I didn't feel comfortable "playing" with all the CV's.
On the bright side I think I fixed my own problem. I purchased a few Lenz Gold decoders and installed them. The were like the TCS decoders, that is they just drop right into place. I programmed the 2 that I wanted to pair up as a consist and the test began. I placed them about 6 inches apart. Speed step 1, they just BARELY began to move, something I have never seen before....cool!! Speed step 2,3,4 they stayed exactly the same distance apart and all the way to speed step 28. Hows that for dumb luck! I did not do anything except program an address. Maybe I have accidently found something new for everyone.
