According to MRC I probably have a defective booster - I'm sending it back to them. Yhe blinking LED indicates a short and I have it even with the booster disconnected completely from the track. So the short answer is that the LED should burn steady.

This may be a dumb question but then again maybe it isn't. I'm adding a Prodigy DCC District Booster to my layout and a Prodigy Advance. At this point I have the Prodigy Advance connected to two of my four power districts through one set of the DCC inputs on a Tony's Trains PSFour circuit breaker and everything works as it should. I've got the Booster connected to the other set of DCC inputs but don't yet have the track connected to the rail outputs of the PS4. When I plug in the Booster and its Power Supply to the A/C the "Pilot" LED on the booster is blinking and the "overload" LED is not on.
Is this correct or should the Pilot LED burn steady?
I've checked the polarity on the rails and its OK but I just want to make sure the rest of the connections are OK before I proceed or do a lot of investigating for a problem that doesn't exist.
