Posted by Trax21 on Sunday, April 13, 2008 8:42 AM
I have an n scale True Line RS18 brand new this year. I know I can get a decoder for I just don't know which one I need. and I have a Bachmann MDT Plymouth 0-6-0 diesel switcher brand new this year I would like to get a decoder for but not sure if I can put one in it. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. I've spent about 2 hours on google trying to find out but I'm just not having any luck.

Why not try the Digitrax website
http://www.digitrax.com/decsel.php#N and see if there is anything close. Or NCE at
http://www.ncedcc.com/

Or you may have to check with your dealer to find a suitable unit. Some modifications may be needed to make one fit too.

If you know who the OEM for the True Line locomotive was, that can help find a match, as many cross references may not include that brand.

Tony's http://tonystrains.com/productcompare/decoder_comparison.htm has a big chart with a lot of info on it that can help. Or just email or call and ask for their recommendation.
