Hi, i have just begun to install a new Massoth Digital system on my LGB G scale layout and there are a couple of problems ive encountered>
- programming track connected to the DiMAX1210Z Central Station
- loco on the track is a LGB 22185 Disney Steam Mogul with a LGB 55027 MTS III decoder freshly installed. Tender (with sound unit) is not connected or on the track.
- when I try to program the loco address (or any CV address) I get a "Circuit overload on programming track! Turn off Sound!" error.
- the same happens when I put the tender (by itself) on the track. This has an 65001 LGB American Steam Sound Unit installed, with external battery add-on.
Also.. the somke generator on this train runs continously when not moving. Is there a way to have it only running when the engine is moving?
Theres more questions coming but I thought i would start with these!
Thank you!
Dan
I don't have any of the setup you do for my G-scale layout, but most locomotives have a switch somewhere to turn the smoke generator off. On a Bachmann Spectrum it is behind the smoke box front cover. On some models, it may be hidden away inside the cab.
If all else fails, move your question over to the Garden Railways magazine forum instead of here, where mostly HO and N scalers hang out.

Hi Dan;
I'm just starting in converting my G scale over to DCC and also had a few problems. I have a phoenix sound system in a USA engine. I installed a MRC decoder and hooked it up for the sound comes off the track power. I had to use a Aristo smoke unit because of the DCC and I hooked it up parallel with the motor output. If engines sits on the track the smoke unit does not work. If I give the motor power the smoke system starts working. The faster the engine goes the more smoke is generated. I also have a Bachmann Annie that does not want to program on the programming track but programs fine on the main. I can get decoder read back on the programming track ok.
