I agree with all of the above. I've had my TT on my DCC layout for quite a while and it does not need a reversing unit. The "track wires" go to the DCC bus wire and I use the AC output of an old Atlas transformer for power.
I have the Walthers turntable and several engines with the older Soundtrax decoders. They shut off at the two dead spots but come right back on as the turntrun moves through them to powered areas again. They are fussy but not here.
And, as everybody says - no auto-reverser.

And Engineken -- I never thought of that loss of power and affecting the sound. And Walther's talks about the 2 dead spots, but I didn't connect it to sound. That's a bummer as I have a few Soundtrax decoders (the older, not Tsunamis) and they absolutely hate even the most slightest momentary loss. Bummer! :o( Ken
no it dopes not need one. but what will happen is for a very short period of time there will be loss of power to the engine. causing the sound to shut off and then back on. if the turntable turns too slow, you might have to recall the engine (which does not happen very often if at all).
I have my turntable controlled with my computer program so I do not have to do anything to make it turn or control the train, unless I want to.

Been operating my 130 footer for over a year with DCC. Works as advertised - no auto-reverser needed. Insulted wipers and circuity have it all taken care of under the turntable. Like to see some pics when its up and running. Hope this helps.
Been trying to get a simple yes/no answer from Walther's tech all week, but they never call back , even though they promise w/i 2 day service, so I thought I'd try here. What's going on with them? They used to be so good at service and advice. Not the last couple times for me though.
I have 4 in/out tracks from 2 different DCC sections, but basically they are always the same rail polarity.
The Walther's turntable says it automatically reverses polarity, and says nothing about DCC.
My common sense tells me the turntable's rail polarity change could cause a polarity problem when the turntable is turned around (that is, one end will be OK, the other a problem). Thus meaning I need a reverser. But, before I go ahead and order one, I thought I'd double check here.
